MINISTERIOS COPA DE AGUA FRESCA
"Go then and make disciples of all the nations..." Matthew 28:19
ACOCW Ministries, Inc. is legally registered in Honduras, as a non-profit organization. Our representative, Pastor Marco Contreras and his wife Elida, began a church in the area of El Banano under a mango tree in 2003 and we helped to complete a church building there in 2012. We have seen the church grow from 50 to more than 750 members!! We feed, equip, build homes for the homeless, and support the ministry there, and now have the first school in the area on our church property, clinic for children, daily feeding program for children, Tilapia Fish Farm, and chicken and egg business, by the grace of God and the provision He supplies through people like you, since 2005.
We are so excited that the school building is finished on the church property and every year students are graduating from high school and college courses. Although we still need to pay a salary to the teachers who volunteer their time to come and teach the children and adults every Sunday. In addition we need to support the students who cannot afford to buy books and materials. These young people would not be able to finish their education, if not for this service provided by the Cup of Cold Water Church. We had vision for a school there since 2005, now praise God He has provided the school but it costs to keep it running. Please help if you can.Cost: $600.00 per month for salaries for 4 teachers; $150.00 for one teacher; anything additional goes toward the students needs and supplies.
LINDALE SHALOM COMMUNITY
ACOCW has built 28 new homes for the homeless in El Banano. All these homes were built with love for the homeless, in the community. These families lived in make shift houses that they built out of bamboo poles, tin roofs, dirt floors, no water or latrines. Their new home costs $6,000, which gives a family a block home, with metal shutters, doors, metal roof, cement floor, and an area outside for a latrine and kitchen. If you would like to help build a house please designate it with your donation.
New Projects - Visions Fulfilled
ACOCW Feed a Child – God gave us a vision for a daily feeding program for the children of the vilage of El Banano, Honduras. We thank God for the faithful service of Pastor Marco Tulio Contreras and his wife Elida and their family who have served there under our umbrella since 2005. There are approximately 160 children in our church, who are hungry every day. As we watched them wait to eat what was left on our plates after a meal, our hearts were broken. God said feed the hungry and we at ACOCW not only desire to give a cup of cold water, but also to give food to the hungry. Children in these poor families do not eat the meat, because their fathers need to have the meat, so they can work. Children are growing and need meat too. Praise God it is happening now at our church. Thanks to the many people who sacrifice their time and to you who sacrifice your finances, to date we are feeding 160 daily, but not all every day. We would like to see this change in 2017. If you would like to be a part of helping a child, join us by donating. Cost: $15 per month per child; $.50 per day per child; $1500 per month for 100 children. This will provide one nutritious meal per day for each child.
ACOCW School – The ACOCW school was and is the first and only school in El Banano. Our students study High School and College courses, as well as trades. In 2019 we began to teach computer technology, barber and cosmetology, making lotions and perfumes, and hope to add other trades in the future. The students may take some business courses after high school. One project they did was the Tilapia Fish Farm which will supply income for the school when it is bringing in profit. In our school each child has parents that never went to school, so this is changing a generation from poverty, with no hope, to opportunity and dreams fulfilled. We charge a small tuition and costs for books, but many students do not have any money to pay, so we have a work program at the church to provide for their tuition. They are so happy to help to receive their education. We pay a salary to the teachers who volunteer their time to come and teach the children and adults every Sunday all day. These young people would not be able to finish their education, if not for this service provided by the Cup of Cold Water Church. We had vision for a school there since 2005, now praise God He has provided the school but it costs to keep it running. They also need to have school supplies furnished, blackboards, books, notebooks, art supplies, etc. Cost: $600.00 per month for salaries for 4 teachers; $150.00 for one teacher; anything additional goes toward the students needs and supplies.
Tilapia Fish Farm – We purchased a piece of land in 2011 for the purpose of providing jobs, food, and a business to prosper the people in El Banano. My vision was for a Tilapia Fish Farm to provide food and jobs for the people. The word of God says, He gives us the desires of our heart when we delight in Him (Ps. 37:4)God knows the desires of our heart because He gives them to us. This vision was fulfilled when the headmaster of our school received an award to build a Tilapia Fish Farm!! And she never knew the vision the Lord gave me but He knew! God is sooo good! It was completed and fully operating in 2016. Tilapia are being raised and sold for additional support of the school and added food for the Feed a Child program. This year the income from this project provided for new floors in the school. The students are learning to give back to those who have given to them. Please keep this in prayer. There are many other possibilities for income in the area such as Cocoa farms, piñata business, sewing and building furniture, as well as, many other trades; it requires education and training in business operations. Please pray for poverty to be lifted from El Banano. We are so excited to see how God sees the needs of the people and is providing!
ACOCW Free Clinic – We held a free clinic for the people in 2014 and the lines were so long that people had to wait up to 10 hours to see the doctor and nurses. After building a building to house our kitchen, restrooms and room for a clinic. We are excited to report that we have a Children's Clinic fully operating now every Sunday on the church grounds!! Thanks to donations, which supply the medicines and the loving care of Dr. Abel and Nurse Maria who give selflessly to the people. There is a great need for these poor people to have access to medical care. To receive medical care they must travel to a town many miles away with little or no transportation or means to buy the medicines they need. Most of the patients in the clinic were elderly or children. It is critical for them to have proper care. We pay for transportation for the nurse and the doctor. Please help with this great need. We are still in need of a scale, sterilizer, and locked medicine cabinet, ceiling fans, and tile on the floors.
Our vision is that with the job and business programs will prosper the people so they can begin to support the church on their own. As of now ACOCW provides for the monthly expenses for the pastor and the people of the church in El Banano, Honduras. Every month we distribute food for 150 families in the church to help them feed their families every month. Costs per month: $950.00 Contributions to this monthly need are much appreciated and prayer for the church to stand on its own
